Gordon Murray Initiative: Curing the disease

A new home for the Brain Tumor Research Center at the Helen Diller Family Cancer Research Building at Mission Bay

Curing the Disease: UCSF Center for Brain Tumor Research

The Helen Diller Family Cancer Research Building is located at UCSF’s Mission Bay campus. This state-of-the-art building houses scientists investigating cancer’s basic biological mechanisms.

Upon completion of the building’s fourth floor, the scientists of the UCSF Brain Tumor Research Center (BTRC), one of the largest and most comprehensive programs of its kind nationwide, will be united in one place for the first time. The new unified space will facilitate frequent, convenient collaboration among the scientists. In turn, these partnerships promise to bring about breakthroughs at an accelerated pace.

At UCSF, we have the people. We have the passion. And we have the imagination. Our most critical remaining need: modern laboratories in which our people can use their passion and imagination to conduct the research that leads to more cures for brain cancer – and saves more patients.

Through the Gordon Murray Initiative, we will provide for this new lab space in the Helen Diller Family Cancer Research Building, ensuring life-saving breakthroughs in brain tumor research.
