Susan Desmond-Hellmann and Nicholas Hellmann Make Historic Gift to Student Support

UCSF Chancellor Susan Desmond-Hellmann, MD, MPH, and her husband, Nicholas Hellmann, MD, recently made an extraordinary gift to the campus: $1 million for professional student scholarships to be divided four ways between the schools of dentistry, medicine, nursing and pharmacy.

Snapshot: NAA Scholarships

Each year, UCSF's Nursing Alumni Association (NAA) recognizes students for their exceptional academic merit, promise, and current and future contributions to the field of nursing with the alumni association scholarship. In 2007 – thanks to the generosity of the NAA – scholarship awards increased from $1,000 for each of the 12 recipients to $4,000 for each of the six to eight students selected.
